In the combined 300-year-old tradition of the Schärer, Schweiter and Mettler companies, which merged in 1989 to become SSM, the commitment to textile machinery and facilities for yarn processing has always been exceptional.

Since founded in the year 1949, our company is one of the most successful suppliers worldwide of sophisticated textile machinery.

From the beginning, we helped forming the benchmark “Made in Germany” and carried it into all of the world. Starting with reeling machines, whose excellent reputation spread fast, balling machines and their specific periphery such as band making and packaging devices were integrated in our product range.

Encouraged through our success we started with steaming machines for fine and course yarns.

Coming 1996 out of well-known enterprise Croon & Lucke, C+L nowadays employs more than 100 people worldwide. They feel obliged to produce and to sell up-to-date textile machinery.

Settled at Mengen in Southern Germany, we are located in a region with great technical potential, lying in the heart of Europe.

Our contacts reach around the globe in all regions with significant textile industry, producing high quality yarns.

C + L is part of the JBF group in Hohentengen, Germany, and is responsible for the development, manufacture and sale of high-quality textile machines within this group.

At JBF, know-how from various areas of mechanical engineering such as automation, processing and pneumo-hydraulic press technology is concentrated. This constellation results in synergy effects that benefit all product areas.

We are committed to producing our high-quality machines in almost 100% in-house production.
